Hope Village Center
Léogâne, Haiti — Fond Jacques / Jacques Maringuoin
The Joedes Development Center is not a plan on paper. The land is purchased. The foundation has been laid. The community is waiting. This is what your gift builds.
A Permanent Home for Haiti's Future
In December 2011 — just under two years after the earthquake that devastated Léogâne — Heirs of Salvation Inc. purchased a parcel of land in the commune of Fond Jacques. On January 9, 2012, we held the official inauguration of the center, gathering community members, local leaders, and supporters to mark the beginning of something lasting.
The center is named the Joedes Development Center — dedicated to the founding vision of Mrs. Mireille Valmé Espérance and her family. It sits in one of the most underserved areas of Léogâne, surrounded by families who need exactly what we are building.
At the inauguration, community members expressed their most urgent needs: transportation for school children, access roads, drainage, clean water, electricity, jobs, health services, and education. Every wing of the Joedes Development Center is designed to address one of these needs directly.

- Trained gardeners managing daily operations
- Fish farming to supplement community food supply
- Produce sold locally to generate program revenue
Livestock Initiative
One of our most powerful programs is built on a simple idea: give a family an animal, and you give them a future. Heirs of Salvation provides families in Léogâne with livestock to raise, care for, and sell — creating a sustainable cycle of income that doesn't depend on outside aid.
When an animal produces offspring, the family keeps the income — and returns one offspring to Heirs of Salvation to give to the next family. Community helping community, sustained by itself.
Animals Provided
- Pigs — raised and sold for income
- Goats — dairy and meat production
- Chickens — eggs and poultry income
- Cows — dairy, cheese, and milk sales
Recreational Complex
Every young person in Léogâne deserves a place to run, compete, and grow. The Hope Village recreational complex will provide structured athletic space for youth programs coached by former competitive athletes.
